In support of our friends on the
West Coast, we are featuring a California Wine Duo paired with a Moveable Feast Grazing Box.
Matthiasson Tendu Mataro, Dunningan Hilla, California
Also known as Mourvèdre, Mataro is a thick-skinned grape, and can make some big, bold, full-bodied reds. Matthiasson's take on the varietal is lighter, fresher, juicy and oh-so-drinkable. Full of dark berry flavors, this wine is like taking a walk through a wild berry patch. A nice line of acidity helps keep it in balance, and there is no over-extraction going on here. For best results, serve with a slight chill.
Absentee Winery Red, Mendocino, California
A field blend from Avi Deixler. Easy-drinking and juicy with soft tannins. The nose is vibrant, delivering red and blackberries, huckleberry, fresh summer herbs, mahogany, carnations, and cedar. The medium light mouthfeel reveals summer berries and herbs, bay leaf, brûlée strawberries, cream de cassis, vanilla, oak, balsamic glaze, and mint.
*Pick up your Wine Duo & Moveable Feast Grazing Boxes Saturday after 1 pm.
