Moritz Kissinger is part of a new generation of winemakers who have a focus on organic farming and crafting low-intervention wines with a serious approach to quality. Kissinger’s limited production gems hail from the limestone rich soils in the heart of Germany’s Rheinhessen region. While Kissinger has produced several still wines, sparkling wines are his true love. Having spent substantial time in Champagne learning from the greats, ‘Winzersekt’ is an homage to those expressive and direct sparkling wines. The ‘No. 3’ is made in the "méthode champenoise”, sees extended lees contact and zero dosage. The wine shows layers of complexity, and like the wines that inspired it, walks the ineffable line between precision and effortlessness.
Bright and joyful, this sparkling wine has fine, prickly bubbles that maintain a soft mousse. The palate is bone dry with linear finesse. Aromas and flavors of zippy lemon-lime and ripe stone fruit blend with chalky minerality and green herbs.
