The Stehelin family comes from a line of five generations of winegrowers. Nicole and Frédéric have been running the Domaine de Paillère and Pied-Gû since 1978. Bertrand, their eldest son, has been working with them since 2001 and has developed, in parallel, his own brand “Bertrand Stehelin”. Both estates are located on the Gigondas lands in the Rhone Valley. Due to its geographical location, Gigondas benefits from a Mediterranean climate that makes it unique and an exceptional asset. The vines of Bertrand Stehelin are cultivated on an excellent soil mainly exposed north-west. Drastic climatic and geological conditions, rugged geography favor the development of very red and tannic wines; typical wines of Cru Gigondas.
Ripe, juicy, slightly jammy fruit, earthy and vegetal notes, hint of pepper and cocoa, some warmth and a touchingly perfumed, attractive finish.
