D’Armanville Brut NV is produced by the Chassenay d’Arce cooperative in the Arce Valley of the Côte des Bar, Champagne’s southernmost region. The brand has a romantic origin story, allegedly created 150 years ago by a winemaker to woo a woman named Lady D’Armanville. Today, it is crafted by a union of 130 family growers who practice sustainable viticulture across 325 hectares. The wine is typically imported to the U.S. by Grape Expectations, focusing on delivering high-value, terroir-driven Champagne.
This Pinot Noir-dominant blend is robust and generous, reflecting the clay and limestone soils of the Côte des Bar. On the nose, it offers inviting aromas of white flowers, crisp green apple, and toasted brioche. The palate is creamy and well-balanced with a lively mousse, featuring flavors of ripe pear, citrus zest, and a subtle almond nuttiness. It finishes with a hallmark Kimmeridgian minerality and a clean, refreshing snap of acidity.
