Produttori di Manduria is one of Puglia’s most important cooperative wineries, founded in the 1930s and rooted in the traditions of southern Italian grape growing. The winery works with a large community of growers, many of whom farm old vines in the warm, sun-drenched landscape near the Ionian Sea. While the estate is especially known for Primitivo, this bottling highlights Negroamaro, another essential grape of Puglia. Negroamaro is beloved for its deep color, dark fruit, earthy spice, and slightly savory edge. In “Acid Crab,” the grape is handled in a fresher, more playful style, showing that southern Italian reds do not always have to be big and heavy. The wine leans into juicy fruit, lift, and drinkability, making it a great candidate for a slight chill. It brings all the warmth and personality of Puglia, but with a lighter, seaside energy.
