Field blend of Alsatian varieties
Jean-Michel Deiss was entrusted the gem of Alsace, the Schoenenbourg vineyard, many years ago, soon realizing what made the vineyard so elite; it was planted as a field blend instead of a single varietal. He quickly followed suit replanting his own top vineyards. He has been at the helm of the Domaine since 1981 becoming a leading voice is Alsace biodynamic farming, minimal intervention were the planter becomes merely the observer - where vineyards becomes a family living and communicating in harmony. Since the 90s they have been coplanting their vineyards with multiple varieties and letting nature take its course. Today, he and his son are making stunning old-vine magic in Bergheim.
This bottling is a blend of all the Alsatians grapes allowed in the AOC (13 in total). Lively, fruity nose, mixing notes of lemon, white flowers, pineapple and yellow peach. The palate is nervous and remarkably fruity, combining the fatness, saltiness, and freshness.
