Top Down is a round, clean, and crisp white that smells of butterscotch without being buttery. The palate is round but light, with a floral quality and notes of white nectarine and jasmine tea. On the nose it shows honeysuckle, banana peel, and freshly cut citrus blossoms.
Jumbo Time Wines was founded in Los Angeles in 2020 by Omar Koukaz and Jonathan Yadegar, with winemaker Jason Phillips overseeing production. The project was created to make naturally produced California wines feel welcoming, joyful, and uncomplicated. Jumbo Time works with organically farmed fruit, seeking dry-farmed and biodynamic vineyards whenever possible. The team believes natural wine should be defined by responsible farming and thoughtful cellar work rather than by a single funky or cloudy flavor profile. Date Night is built around Grenache from Zabala Vineyard, a cool, windswept site in Monterey County known for producing fruit with freshness and aromatic lift. It is then blended with rosé-style Mourvèdre and Cinsault from Lodi, adding perfume, brightness, and savory detail. Minimal sulfur and restrained handling preserve the blend’s lively personality without sacrificing balance. The result is a natural red with enough depth for dinner but enough freshness to keep the evening light.
