Inspired by the rose garden of Boissonna (boasting more than 460 varieties of roses) La Roseraie is located in Duras, within the IGP Atlantique. The vineyards of La Roseraie are actually quite influenced by the winds off the Mediterranean Sea, as well as the lush agricultural diversity of Duras. The estate practices sustainable farming and aims to keep the vineyards as biodiverse as possible. Stretching south-west out of Bordeaux, the IGP Atlantique is the only IGP (Protected Geographical Indication) of the Bordeaux region. IGP designations, though not as strict as AOC, still require winemakers to follow particular regional specifications. Winegrowers are free to choose which varieties and growing techniques to work with, but must pay attention to the alcohol content and the maximum yield per hectare, among other things.
The nose is intense with notes of boxwood, hay, and citrus. The palate is fresh and crisp, with a smooth texture. Flavors of bright citrus, soft florals and a subtle hint of sea salt.
