Winemaker and owner, Janell Dusi, has a long history in Paso Robles. She was born and raised on the Dusi Family vineyard, which was established in the early 1900s. The family has been growing grapes in the region ever since, and Janell learned the old-world Italian way of winemaking from her grandfather. Today she continues the family tradition growing the classic Zinfandel as well as Carignane, Petite Sirah, Grenache, Mourvèdre, Cabernet Sauvignon and Clairette Blanche. The family continues to use the sustainable farming practices that were implemented by Janell’s great-grandparents ninety years ago. Janell believes that “winemaking is part science, part art and 100% passion” and follows this philosophy as she carries on the legacy of her family’s dream.
The Model M Red is an homage to the family heritage, named for the model of the first tractor purchased by the Dusi family back at the turn of the century as they began to grow their business.
The palate is bold and warming with just enough lift. You’ll find flavors of black cherry and dark plum, with cedar, some baking spice, and a bit of dark chocolate.
