Jody Brix and Emily Towe are a married couple who fell in love with the variety that California has to offer. They love to make small amounts of as many different wines they can, adding a new grape every year. The family has a minimalist and natural approach to winemaking, allowing the grapes and terroir to truly speak for themselves. “Counou” means “hey there!” to friends in French, a phrase that pairs perfectly with the wineries motto: ONLY LOVE.
Counoise is a technically a red grape and is produced the same way they make their reds but because the berries vary so much in color (from greenish to lavender to purple) that the wine becomes this beautiful light reddish color! This is your perfect crushable summer red—chill it and toss some hot dogs on the grill, maybe some spicy BBQ, and enjoy!
