Höpler is an Austrian, family-owned winery located southeast of Vienna in the hills of the Burgenland region. Their 46 hectares of vineyards lie on the shores of Lake Neusiedl, a warm, humid microclimate perfect for growing wine grapes, where the wide variety of soils (chalk, gravel, sand, and slate) contribute to the unique complexity and character of their wines. These wines, despite their variety, have a clear signature; delicate, elegant, and high in minerality. They are excellent to drink on their own but versatile when it comes to food and wine pairing.
Pannonica White is refreshing and elegant. The nose is delicate with apricot, pear, rose petals and lime. The body is light, yet has good mid-palate texture and bright acidity. Juicy yellow pear and fresh lemon round out this lovely “vacation in a bottle”, light semi-dry wine. We think this Austrian white blend pairs beautifully with a lobster roll or Thai Basil chicken.
