100% Albarino
Rias Baixas is home to the queen of Spanish white grapes, Albarino. Everything about this region is influenced by the ocean which makes sense that it would pair beautifully with clams, oysters (what the local Galician people eat with it), sushi, Indian and Thai food.
Alberto Orte and Rodri Mendez make this wine from vineyards planted in the 1970s in granite soils. Both winemakers are focused on a philosophy of thoughtful winemaking and use ambient yeast fermentation. This wine is produced in the warmest subzone, Condado de Tea, and produces wine that showcase more generous fruit and ample body from than wines made closer to the coast.
This Albarino has lively aromas of quince, lemon zest and jasmine. It's dry and sharply focused with bold, intense fruit but with an incredible clarity shining through.
