100% Chenin Blanc
60-year-old, dry-farmed, head-trained Deanda Vineyard is organically farmed by Sarah Deanda in the Redwood Valley. After they foot crush the grapes they macerate the Chenin Blanc for one night (giving it some awesome skin contact goodness) and then press the juice into neutral oak barrels. Then it goes into the bottling tank for 3 months before bottling. As always, no fining, filtering or added sulfur. This wine is “unctuous” (as they say) and expresses itself a bit differently than past vintages. It’s full of texture and ripe fruit with waxy notes of lemon curd, yellow and white flowers. They call it the “Sassy Grassy tasty white wine” for a reason!
