The name Remoissenet is recognized by serious collectors, and stands for refined, classic Burgundian wines. Founded in Beaune in 1877 it was run as a négociant and producer for the last part of the 20th century by the venerable Roland Remoissenet. Retiring in 2005, Remoissenet handed over his estate and vineyards to new owners; a New York financier Edward Millstein (an avid Burgundy collector) along with Pierre-Antoine Rovani (formerly of the Wine Advocate) and Bernard Repolt (Maison Louis Jadot). With this purchase came the entire contents of the famed, historic cellar; the largest cellar of aged Burgundy in the world that was solely in the care of Remoissenet's hands up until that point.
100% Chardonnay aged in 30% new French oak, this wine is a picture-perfect example of the golden fruit and nutty nuance of the Côte de Beaune's most expressive village for white Burgundy. A blend of both purchased and estate-owned, biodynamically raised fruit for a Meursault of endless intensity and pleasure.
