The Graci estate is located in Passopisciaro, an area of long established viticulture, on the Northern slope of Mount Etna. Young Alberto Aiello Graci remains steadfast in his respect for tradition, striving to reflect the distinct personalities of the vineyards and the differences between each and every harvest - highlighting the area's balance of elegance and rusticity. Only cultivating the indigenous grapes: Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio, and white grapes Carricante and Catarratto; intervention of any kind is extremely limited, both in the vineyard and in the cellar. These impressive vines are found in some of the highest elevation in the world with ungrafted original rootstock!
The Nerello is from the northeast Barbabecchi vineyards. Lively and fresh with complex cherry, plum and raspberry fruits, a hint of licorice, leafyness and wild herbs. Well developed structure and long finish - built for ageing.
