Atemporal means “timeless” and that’s exactly what this red blend from Alta Vista delivers. The blend of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot come from the high altitude vineyards of the Uco Valley. Argentine grapes have the longest “hang time” of any grapes grown in the world, which results in balanced wines with fruit-forward flavors and smooth tannins. The fruit for ‘Atemporal' is grown exclusively in the Alta Vista Estate Albaneve vineyard and aged in French oak barrels for 12 months. Intentionally suitable for aging, the wine is made to allow the flavors to further develop and showcase the terroir of this unique terroir. The high altitude and desert-like climate provide natural protection from insects, fungi, molds, phylloxera and other diseases so pesticides and herbicides are rarely used. To further reduce their environmental impact, the winery employs “bio beds” to help reduce any chemical run-off when the use is necessary
Complex on the nose due to the three-varietal blend, it exudes notes of violet, pepper, cinnamon and licorice. On the palate, it is a balanced combination of Malbec's silkiness, Cabernet Sauvignon's power and structure, and Petit Verdot's intensity.
