2017 Villa Calicantus Sollazzo Rosato Frizzante, Veneto, Italy
Corvina, Rondinella, Molinara, and a little Sangiovese
Juicy, peachy, and berryish, with a soft mousse. Sollazzo, meaning “fun under the sun,” is made with Corvina, Rondinella, Molinara, and a little Sangiovese from a west-facing site planted in pergola. It is released undisgorged (“col fondo”) and unsulfured. 3087 bottles produced. Bardolino is proposing a new typology, Bardolino Chiaretto Rifermentato in Bottiglia, so in the future this wine may be able to take an appellation name.
From the Winemaker: "But before to be a wine winery, Villa Calicantus is a dream, a dream made of passion, respect and love for our land: our dream is to demonstrate that it is possible to produce a “vin de garde” respectful of all the characteristics of the Bardolino wine.
Love o Nature – Since the first year of production, 2011, our vineyards have been worked in organic. Thereafter we started to work in biodynamic in 2014, as a result of a new awareness of the necessity to complete the natural path started few years before."
