Made by the acclaimed producer of Sassicaia and the inventor of the "Super Tuscan", this Bordeaux blend is a wine of power and finesse.
Sassicaia's little brother, Guidalberto is a lush Super Tuscan from the Tenuta San Guido in Bolgheri. A blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot, fermentation takes place separately for each variety in temperature-controlled steel vats before undergoing maceration. The wine is aged 15 months mostly in French and some American oak barrels. This is the wine to drink and enjoy while you wait for your Sassicaia to mature in your cellar.
Smokey notes of dark fruit, herbs and smoked meat dominate the nose. There is a soft tannin on the palate, with additional flavors of balsamic, black currant and blackberry. It is a bottle that would hold up to some big food like steak or grilled lamb.
