Skinner Winery, revived by Mike and Carey Skinner, is a tribute to family legacy and winemaking history. In 2006, they discovered their ancestral connection to pioneering winemaker James Skinner while exploring the Sierra Foothills. Inspired, they acquired a 25-acre property near the original 1860s winery site in Rescue, California. Committed to preserving and celebrating this heritage, they planted vineyards featuring James Skinner’s original grape varieties, such as Mission, Zinfandel, and Grenache, which they call Legacy Grapes. Their dedication ensures that James Skinner's innovative spirit continues to thrive.
