Roilette was the name of the original owner's prized race horse. She reportedly loved Gamay. 9 hectares of hillside property on the edge of the Fleurie Cru produces lovely wines with high ageing potential. The high concentration of iron rich soils and the old age of the vines are the estate's claim to what sets them apart. The estate is certified sustainable, no machinery is used in the fields, and fermentation is spontaneous with native yeasts in concrete tanks.
Here, 'Tardive' refers to the long aging potential, as this is a cuvèe made from the oldest vines on the property, the youngest of which date back 80 years. A richer concentration, but with partial whole cluster fermentation will retain a youthful freshness, many years into the future.
