Named for the winemaker's grandfather and nephew, Walter Scott was Ken's life ambition to craft world-class wines that capture the depth and energy of the Willamette Valley. Today, Ken and Erica have shaped Walter Scott into a renowned winery, and still fiercely focused on great wines made with intention, respect, and an uncompromising pursuit of quality.
Part of the barrel selection for the popular Combe Verte, this cuveè is named after one of the founders' grandmother who assisted with the opening of the winery back in 2008. Made from 100% Chardonnay, it spends 12 months in French oak, 50% of which is new, but you wouldn't think so, with the liveliness of this wine.
The nose is rich and Burgundian with ripe yellow fruit, buttered pie crust and white blossoms. On the palate, the vibrant flavors of white pineapple, yellow apple are round and rich with a minerally seam running throughout, finishing bright and fresh.
