The Graves-de-Vayres appellation is located in Bordeaux’s Right Bank, between Saint-Emilion and the city of Bordeaux. The appellation is named for its unique terroir; the soil is made up of gravel pebbles that have been tumbled by the Dordogne and Isle rivers. The exceptionally well draining soil helps produce wines with a bright and pleasant minerality, as well a great potential for aging.
In the heart of this special region is Château Fage, made up of over 45 hectares of vineyards, forest, and meadow. Today the estate is operated by Yves and Carole Glotin. Yves learned winemaking from his grandmother, the first female wine grower at the Château Goudichaud, and Carole comes from a line of oenologists.
