Familia Schroeder is one of only 14 wineries in this remote and relatively new viticultural region. The environment here (with its light stony soils, generous streams of pure water, intense sunlight and substantial diurnal temperature shift) is sure to become one of Argentina’s most important growing regions. While wine growing may be a recent development, the land here has been developing for eons, as evidenced by the massive remains of a Titanosaur, discovered on the vineyard site. The family built a special cellar to exhibit the original fossils. The vineyards are certified organic and always hand-harvested.
