Outward Winemakers, Ryan and Natalie, are focused on producing small-lot, site-specific wines that collectively showcase the diversity of terroir across California's Central Coast. They source grapes from expressive vineyards that span the region; including Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, and Monterey counties.
All of the vineyards they work with are farmed using organic or biodynamic practices and are located close to the cold Pacific Ocean. In the cellar, they strive to minimize inputs throughout the winemaking process allowing for a clear picture of what the site can provide naturally, giving the wine a true sense of time and place.
Situated in the SW corner of Santa Maria Valley, Presqu'ile is planted on an ancient sand dune and is by far our coldest site. These Sauv Blanc grapes are among the last picked each harvest, giving them a particularly long hang time that offers unique depth of flavor and complexity to this cool-climate Sauvignon Blanc. Fermented in old neutral French oak barrels to provide a balance of generous aromatics while maintaining bright acidity.
