For 10 generations, the Bourgeois family has committed efforts to their Sauvignon Blancs and Pinot Noirs. Each member of our family, Jean-Marie Bourgeois, Arnaud, Lionel and Jean-Christophe, bring their talent to the Domaine. However, the main figure of the turning point in the family's history was Henri Bourgeois. From cultivating two hectares on the slopes of Chavignol, he took the audacious step in the 1950's of concentrating on his vines in an area that was, until then, unknown. This is where wines of high quality were born and to which he gave his name. Established in Chavignol, in the heart of the best terroirs of Sancerre and Pouilly-Fumé, we cultivate a mosaic of plots respecting our unique terroirs of kimmeridgian, silex and limestone.
This Sancerre blanc is typical of the appellation and the Domaine Henri Bourgeois style. Subtle yet powerful, its persistence and harmony find their origin in the exposure and quality of the terroir. Crispy, and fruity this wine has some lime, apple and gunflint aromas balanced by ripe tropical and yellow orchard fruits.
