At Pike Road, the sister vineyard to Elk Cove, the Campbell family has made it their mission to support small family-owned vineyards across the Northern Willamette Valley. The family has over 40 years of experience between the two wineries, giving them a deep connection to and understanding of the region. Pike Road, the namesake of the winery, meanders through lowland farms along the western edge of the valley and deep into the Oregon Coast Range Mountains. Winemaker, Heather Perkin, hails from a wine background in Australia, and helped the Campbell family grow Elk Cove before launching Pike Road in 2015. The team at Pike Road believes that the northern Willamette Valley is the best place in the “new world” to grow Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris; each bottle a delicious snap shot of what is possible in this special region.
Pale pink gemstone in color and opens up with a ripe plum and soft floral nose. The palate is juicy with pink grapefruit, mandarin orange, sweet strawberries and a hint of madeleine cookies. A pleasing texture with white tea tannin, bright acidity and a clean mineral finish.
