As the fourth generation family winemaker, Jean-Paul took over his family's 26 hectares in the mid-1990s and began steering viticulture toward organic practices. In the cellar, Dubost pulls from regional tradition and thoughtful low-interventionism.
From 60 year old Gamay vines in “En Brenay” from the southern portion of Moulin-à-Vent, with soils rich in manganese, granite and iron. Full carbonic maceration of whole clusters over one month in concrete and steel tanks, with twice daily pump-overs. Two-thirds concrete and steel tanks and one-third barrels of 1–5 years of age. 2,000 cases produced a year. Warm and lifted by gorgeous spice and depth of structure.
