William Ponsot originally planted and harvested in the region of Cote de Nuits in 1872. Post Phylloxera, new Pinot Noir vines were planted by his godson Hippolyte who was eventually exporting wines around the world and worked to establish and defend AOC rights for the area. Traditionally planted on terraces, from the 1960’s, the clay and limestone vineyards have been cared for with soil health and sustainability and biodiversity in mind.
Great aromatic complexity and a structured, well-balanced palate. The finish, with its slightly firmer tannins has a refreshing acidity.
