Situated in Krems, about 40 miles west of Vienna, there is a growing coop (quite common in Eastern Europe), named Winzer Krems with 880 growers contributing and experimenting with grapes and winemaking. Certified sustainable, the grapes are handpicked and gravity fed into a press and then further into the fermentation tanks. Fresh and juicy apples meets wet stones and herby white pepper on the end.
