The Nozzole estate located north of the village of Greve in the heart of the Chianti Classico region dates back to the 1300s. Its 385 hectares are rich with vines and olive groves acquired by the Folonari family in 1971 shortly after they switched their focus from mass productions to smaller, elegant, and higher quality wines showing the characteristics of their terroir.. In order to obtain concentration and complexity, yields are kept low. The vines for Le Bruniche grow on one of the estate’s highest hillsides, where excellent sun exposure and limestone and marl soils help to maintain optimal temperature for a slow and regular ripening. The Chardonnay sees no oak, fermenting and aging on the lees in stainless steel.
Classic stonefruit notes of apple, white peach, and melon with citrus and light herbs. Rich, clay soils produce a full and well balanced wine with excellent persistence resulting in a dry, crisp finish.
