No it's not Gamay, it's Gamaret! Developed in the 1970's, Gamaret is a cross between Gamay and Reichensteiner. It has beautiful dark fruit notes, but does not go heavy or jammy. A youthful expression of this unusual grape, it presents with lifting acidic structure, savory spiciness and blackberry. It is the perfect red to pair with all your barbecued meats and mushrooms. And put a little chill on it first!
