Commanderie de la Bargemone is one of Provence’s historic estates, located just north of Aix-en-Provence where cooler nighttime temperatures and elevated vineyard sites help preserve freshness and elegance in the wines. Dating back to the 13th century, the estate was once associated with the Knights Templar and today is recognized for producing refined, organically farmed wines that capture the spirit of southern France.
The vineyards are planted across limestone-rich soils surrounded by lavender, olive trees, and Mediterranean scrub, all of which contribute to the region’s unmistakable aromatic character. Provence rosé has become globally iconic, but estates like Bargemone stand apart for their focus on balance, restraint, and terroir rather than simply chasing a pale color profile.
The blend is crafted from classic Provençal grape varieties, each contributing something different—Grenache for fruit, Cinsault for freshness, Syrah for structure, and Vermentino for lift and aromatics. Gentle pressing and cool fermentation preserve the wine’s delicate fruit and crisp acidity. The result is a rosé that feels polished, mineral-driven, and effortlessly Mediterranean.
