The vineyards of Fabien Castaing’s family estate roll along the hills of Aquitaine in Western France. This prolific region, if perhaps overshadowed by its more famous neighbor, produces wines of a similar makeup to that of Bordeaux. Hot and relatively dry summers provide prime conditions to produce concentrated, ripe fruit. Vignobles Fabien Castaing favors aging in concrete tanks, which allows the fruit flavor of the grapes to not be overpowered by oak characteristics. If you’ve been shopping with us for a little while, you’ve probably noticed we’re great fans of all the wines imported by Mary Taylor. Vignobles Fabien Castaing falls right in line with the ethos of the Taylor portofolio: the winery was among the first members of ‘Produit en Nouvelle – Aquitaine’, a project dedicated to providing local and responsible products from both a social and environmental point of view. The vineyards have been certified organic since 2000 and High Environmental Value 3 since 2013.
