With the help of Chris and Andrea Mullineux, Great Heart is led by their assistant winemaker, Gynore Hendricks, who is from the Swartland. A graduate of the prestigious Cape Winemakers Guild Protégé Programme in 2017, Gynore spent her first year working with Miles Mossop, followed by a year at De Grendel Wines, working with Charles Hopkins. Gynore’s final year was spent with the Mullineux’s, where upon graduating in 2019, Gynore was offered the position of Assistant Winemaker at Mullineux and Leeu Passant.
Sourced from a single vineyard, planted is deep loam-rich soils on the lower slopes of Helderberg Mountain. French oak barriques (20% new) for fermentation with indigenous yeasts with no sulphur. Malolactic fermentation took place naturally and then spent 10 months on the lees.
Rich and silky, mild oak notes and subtle tropical tones, balanced with good acid and freshness.
