Paşaeli is a family-owned boutique winery founded in 2000 by Seyit Karagözoğlu, a former wine importer who sought to revive Turkey’s ancient and endangered indigenous grape varieties. Located near İzmir in western Turkey, the winery operates approximately 24 hectares of vineyards spread across various microclimates to ensure each grape variety grows in its historical "homeland". The winery’s philosophy centers on minimal intervention and a commitment to authenticity, producing single-vineyard wines that express specific terroir. Under the guidance of Italian consultant Andrea Paoletti, Paşaeli utilizes native yeast for all its red wines and has increasingly moved toward using older oak barrels to let the pure fruit character shine through.
