Established in 1983 as the third winery in the Walla Walla Valley, L’Ecole is a third-generation, family-owned estate a historic Frenchtown Schoolhouse. They produce handcrafted wines using certified sustainable fruit from their Estate Ferguson and Estate Seven Hills Vineyards. Their commitment to excellence has earned them international prestige, including seventeen appearances on the Wine & Spirits Top 100 Winery list and top honors for their Bordeaux-style blends.
Named after the Walla Walla Valley’s first settlement, this red blend combines Bordeaux and Rhône varietals for a complex and loaded blend. Despite a challenging growing season in 2023 with low yields, the hand-harvested fruit is incredibly concentrated and aged for nine months in neutral oak. Notes of dark cherry, blueberry, and anise take center stage, complemented by nuances of cocoa powder, violet, and cinnamon spice.
