Located in Odenas at the foot of Mont Brouilly, Domaine Bonnet-Cotton is a 13-hectare family estate with winemaking roots dating back to 1856, currently led by Pierre Cotton and his partner Marine Bonnet. After a brief career as a motorcycle mechanic, Pierre returned to the domaine in 2014 to reclaim his family's holdings and implement organic farming, a vision further enhanced in 2020 by Marine’s expertise as a viticultural agronomist. The vineyards, featuring 60- to 100-year-old Gamay vines managed in traditional goblet style, are characterized by a diverse "mosaic" of soils—most notably the pink granite of Brouilly and a rare blend of pink granite and diorite known as "corne verte". Committed to sustainability and biodiversity, the duo plants roughly 500 trees annually within their plots to promote water retention and habitat restoration, while the wines are vinified using native yeasts and aged in century-old foudres—repurposed beer vats—in their historic 18th-century cellar.
