Three French Hens sums up the old and new of the Languedoc region of Southern France. A French country wine in all senses, the secondary grape variety has origins in the Languedoc while the lead variety is more internationally known. The white blend is an innovative blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Rolle (aka Vermentino) from winemaker Guillaume Letang. Guillaume operates as a “negociant” winemaker and works with different growers to select the best fruit from the sun-drenched vineyards of Southern France for this refreshing change from traditional French Sauvignon Blanc. The luscious tropical fruit aromas and subtle spice of the Vermentino are balanced by the clean, zingy citrus of the Sauvignon Blanc. The result is an aromatic, smooth, dry white wine.
Aromas of lime zest, melons and ripe peaches invite you into the glass. Brightly toned and vivacious, the wine has good acidity without being too aggressive on the palate.
